The Lenco 705 - alongside with the 690 and the 695 - mark a change in the drive systems Lenco used. The very same 16 pole synchronous motor Lenco M25 has been used in every belt driven record player Lenco has developed and produced until they closed down. In the size of a portable record player but intended only to be used at home as the motor only works with the normal ac outlet. Lenco sold it also with a built in amplifier as Twenty Star, distributed by ExLibris. Some other manufacturer used the 705 in their compact music centers. Later in production it was improved and was re-named as 705A.
