With the 705A, Lenco did re-design the drive-system by changing the position of the synchronous motor to the top left. This was necessary to reduce the hum produced by the motor’s magnetic field that could stray into a MM cartridge. Some other manufacturer used the 705A in their portable record players or compact music centers. The production started in February 1971. In 1972 Lenco used it in its portable record player Twenty Star.
