The L 78 is the younger brother from the L 75. Some new features were implemented to improove the operating experience.

- a new plinth

- a new constructed dust cover

- a better suspension

- an automatic shut-off mechanism

- all black painting - no aluminum scratch plate anymore

- a new rubber mat

Introduced in autumn 1972 the production went on until the close down in Switzerland. During production Lenco changed the wooden plinth and the bottom cover to plastic. 

The Italian production had also a model with a s-shaped tone arm. These models were mostly sold in the EU countries. Even after the close down in Switzerland, the production in Italy went on for another five years.
