The J-585 is a portable 4-speed record player with a built in mono tube amplifier. It was distributed in Switzerland  by Ex Libris as ‚Seventeen’ for 145 CHF. The J-585 has been produced over a longer period in the early sixties. The first version had the loudspeaker in the top cover and the record player did not have an automatic shut off mechanism. There was a separate power switch for the motor that has been operated by the speed selector mechanics. The tube amplifier was different to the later versions as it used an ECL 82 tube instead of the ECL 86.
