F 50-8 - Evolution in 4 steps - the closer look into the facts



Around 1956 the third version (Mk III) came with a better tone arm and with a removable 2-pin head shell but still with the auto stop mechanism. This version was the base for the  B 50-16 Mk I as both coexisted at the same time* on the market.


When Stereo ready wording was introduced, the fourth version (Mk IV) - released in 1957 - got a knob for ON / PLAY, a simple lift mechanic and the auto stop mechanism is gone. During production the Mk IV was upgraded to Stereo using a 3-pin bakelite headshell.
