Attention: Some of these old record players do have open contacts on the power switch. Unplug the record player from the mains and wait several minutes before you start working on it!

Locate the idler wheel and remove the small circlip careful. Underneath the circlip are one or two washers, keep in mind the number of these washers! Place the circlip and the washers in a small plastic box with a cover!

Remove the idler wheel and have a look at the axle - are there any washers? If not, they might stick on the underside of the idler wheel. Put back any washers on the axle and clean the axle.

For now you can put the record player aside.
