Starting with the 3-speed version of the F 50-8 record player, Lenco used a tapered rotor to transmit the rotation from the rotor to the idler wheel. The first rotor used a linear gradient which lead to a big gap between 45 rpm and 78 rpm on the speed lever segment. Before 1955 that was not really a problem even though it did not look nice.

In 1955 the 16 ²/₃ rpm records were introduced and Lenco implemented it in their record player the same year. The size of the speed lever segment remained the same but was divided into four parts containing all available speeds. To achieve this, Lenco re-designed the rotor and used steps with different gradients alongside the rotor.
