The Lenco C-1000 Tape Deck was a cooperation between Lenco Italiana and HEA Vienna. It was on the market between 1972 and 1976.

At that time not so many manufacturers had a Dolby B licence. Lenco was one of them. At the Osimo site there were activities to establish an OEM manufacturing for tape deck mechanics. Blaupunkt was one of their early customers. From that knowledge Lenco Italiana started the project C-1000. Lenco had a Dolby License* even in November 1971, so the development of the C-1000 must have been on its way then…

There are rumors around that the C-1000 was just a prototype. That is NOT true. It has been built in at least 2 series that can be proofed !
